Worshipped at Triumphant Love, Austin today. Excellent as usual. http://www.tllc.org/
Weekend off. Watching my sister’s kids so she can go to Mardi Gras in the Big Easy. TLLC is my parents’ church. They love it. Growing like a weed. We’re watching with interest as they wrangle with alternate forms of governance. Assoc Pastor Jennifer Krentz preached xellent exegetical sermon. They buried the alleluia during the children’s sermon. Sr. Pastor Norb is a former LCMS guy. They sure knew how to grow pastors. The split in the Missouri Synod benefitted us, but Lutheranism as a whole lost. The left needs the right and vice-versa. When splits occur the liberals lose grounding. The conservatives end up mired in legalism, as Capon says, like bad piano students who are so focused on playing the correct notes they can’t hear the music. TLLC feels like a place where right and left meet. Righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Maybe that’s why they’re growing. Michael Rinehart, bishopTexas-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod
