Anne Rice on why she is leaving the church:
“It’s simply impossible for me to ‘belong’ to this quarrelsome, hostile, disputatious,
and deservedly infamous group. For ten years, I’ve tried. I’ve failed. I’m an outsider. My conscience will allow nothing else.”
A colleague described a recent conversation with disaffected young adults. “What kind of church would draw you back in?”
“A church of compassion and tolerance. A church that is non-exclusive.”
The future of the Christian movement will depend upon it returning to Jesus’ radical ministry of inclusivity, commensality and compassion.

I heard the term “intentional inclusivity” was used in the recent Leadership meetings. That’s not something we practice as we should, but what a brilliant concept!

Thanks for the post, Mike….A question: How do you define and describe commmensality?

Great question. I think you meant to post this to the other post, yes?
