I’m in a small group study these next 40 days, on love. We’ll be studying 1 Corinthians 13, and taking a close look at our lives to see if our values and behavioral line up. We will be doing exercises to practice loving on the edge.
Today we read the first chapter of “The Relationship Principles of Jesus,” pp. 21-27.
I am left pondering the question, “Have I been placing tasks above relationships? What tempts me to move relationships down the priority list?”

I think many of us have been trained to define our goals and then decide on a way to achieve them by activities defined by a list of tasks (multi-tasking is even better?!) If these are the greatest commandments, it Jesus’ parable of the Samaritan the greatest parable? It is my favorite parable!
An aside, I thought the week 2 discussion of the parable of the “neighborly” Samaritan focuses on 4 tasks.

Tasks not bad. Like eating chocolate not bad. But if tasks become more important than relationships, life gets out of balance.
