Thrivent Builds El Salvador is a joint partnership between Habitat for Humanity, and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Thrivent Financial is a not-for-profit financial services company that markets products like life insurance, mutual funds, and annuities, primarily to Lutherans. Thrivent donates all of what would be profit for a normal company to worthy causes around the world. Thrivent is the largest corporate partner with Habitat, and the partnership is known as “Thrivent Builds”. They built an entire community of about 75 homes in El Salvador, and are now beginning another one. A team is heading there this year on Oct 22-30, 2011.

Immersions are often life changing. Thrivent pays for some of the expense of the trip, so it costs less than most Habitat international trips. The trip cost is $959 plus airfare and incidentals. Cost for Thrivent members is only $604 (plus airfare).
