Today we visited the church where Luther was baptized, St. Peter’s in Eisleben. Because this is an active parish, instead of restoring it to its original glory, they modernized it and suited it to fit current parish realities. Also, as Luther’s baptismal place, they recognized they would be receiving pilgrims these next few years, so they have made it a center for affirmation of baptism, with a full-sized font in the ancient tradition. Beautiful.
