I’ll post more when the professional photographers pictures come to me, but here are a few shots I took of Ken Weiss’ ordination today at Eben Ezer Lutheran Church of New Berlin. Kenneth had a long journey to ordination, he has four grandchildren. We are incredibly excited to have him as a pastor. The church was standing room only. Look at the photo, even in the transept and on into the fellowship hall it was packed. We also had almost 30 pastors present for this momentous event. Herb Palmer preached. Charles Parnell assisted. Dean of the conference David Hansen installed.
Brenham is an old German settlement, and home of the best ice cream ever made, Bluebell Ice Cream. Unbelievably, Brenham, a town of 15,000, has 10 ELCA churches in the same zip code (and 2 LCMS and 2 NALC). Eben Ezer of New Berlin is the oldest Lutheran Church in Brenham, from which many of the other churches were started. I believe even big old St. Paul’s downtown Brenham was started by Eben Ezer. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Anyway, congratulations Ken. Were proud to have you.
