It was a great day today preaching at the 125th anniversary of St. Paul of Phillipsburg outside of Brenham, Texas. St. Paul’s Pastor Robert Sorensen presided.

We had great music thanks to organist Beth and her husband timpanist Jeff.  The organ is a 5-rank Visser-Roland purchased and installed in 1993 at a cost of $25K.
Some of the former pastors spoke:

Pastor Larry Beck (1978-1980). Note also Larry’s 1980 picture with the confirmation class below.

Pastor Charles Holm-Roesler (1980-1985)

Pastor Brian Nunnaly (1990-1999)

Neil, below, is the a great grandson of the founding pastor, Renatus Fiedler.

It’s interesting that this church was started by the pastor at St. James New Wehdem, just up the road. 14 families meet at the Stern home. Later the Sterns donated 8 acres of land for a church building.

I found it interesting that the pastors wore tippets until the 1960’s.

Note Pastor Beck!
