It was good to have a celebration at Tree of Life Lutheran Church in Conroe this Reformation Sunday, October 28, 2018. The 15th anniversary of Pastor Chris Lake’s ordination and my 30th. And later today Ryan Dockery’s ordination. (And it’s also Chris Markert’s 18th Anniversary.)

Chris and I sang Psalm 34 for in memory of our namesake, Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.

Many thanks to TOL President Jack Zimmer for his kind words. We spar politically, but both love the church, one of the last places in this polarized society that people of good will who differ still come together.

So nice of Chris’ parents to drive over from Brenham.
